The Parish debt at 30th June 2011 was €19,830 compared to €33,860 last year. The reduction was mainly due to the saving of €14,020 generated during the year.
The saving was principally due to lower expenditure on salaries and repairs. The salary reduction was due to the fact that there was no parish secretary employed during the year. This situation will change as we are in the process of filling the position. The reduction in repairs was due to lower repair costs on the church and the parish centre during the year. Overall income was down by €5450 due mainly to a reduction in Family Offerings which were down €10,000. This is a major issue as it is the main source of income for funding the Parish activities and Church expense
The income figure does not include any contribution from the Sunday Mass collections or Christmas and Easter Dues as they go directly to the diocese to fund the salaries of all priests working in the diocese and diocesan administration costs. Many homes in the Parish may have never been asked to contribute to the Family Offering so we ask that more of you would consider contributing directly to the Parish. We have attached a Standing Order Form which you could complete and return to the Parochial House.
The Parish is in urgent need of financial support to enable it to meet the ongoing requirements of our community. Parishioners are already very generous in making contributions to the Diocese and we would like to thank you very much particularly in these difficult times.
